Position Overview:

Our client services team is seeking an Account Specialist or Manager, Client Development to support a leading digital platfom company based in the Bay Area. This integral member of the team will report to the Executive Director, Client Development. This position supports the sales process and leads project management for NPDs portfolio of services supporting client's business objectives including product assortment, promotion analysis, and shopper trends.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and account management expertise. Understanding or ability to learn the basics of market research and data analysis in order to relay information to clients in various roles of category management, marketing, advertising, and data analysis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and application of NPD data sets including syndicated POS, Consumer and Checkout, utilize multiple data sources to partner with client to help grow their business and ensure client satisfaction with current investment(s)
  • Act as primary liaison across several internal teams; help teams prioritize time and resources related to big picture client projects and overall strategic relationship
  • Knowledge and/or ability to discuss and build opportunities with client focused on trends in retail, shopping, consumer purchase behavior, seasonal dynamics, online shopping and marketplace
  • Aptitude to understand client objectives and suggest and create solutions based on NPD data sets and abilities to answer their questions while building revenue for NPD
  • Ability to create custom reports and presentations targeted to clients objectives- strong skills in excel, data charting and communication of key insights required
  • Build strategic relationships and focus on expanding contacts in your client base in order to identify and network with new budget centers at accounts, demonstrating the confidence to seek out new relationships and build credibility
  • Understand the dynamics of your clients' organization, team structure and who's who in order to support and identify applications for NPD products and services.
  • Ability to drive the sales cycle from opportunity identification to negotiation and close of the sale to reach revenue targets
  • Partner with cross-functional teams at NPD to ensure success for the team/company
  • Deliver and take ownership of revenue growth for assigned clients

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 3-5+ years of experience within client services, account management, category management, or sales
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects teams and requests
  • Manage competing internal and external deadlines and requirements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a comfort level presenting to internal and external audiences
  • Experience and comfort level with negotiation and closing the sale
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and familiarity with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Google Drive a plus
  • Prior experience within the retail channel and/or with NPD tools a plus
