The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery - Marietta is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses - are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Job Details Facility: Kennestone HospitalWellstar is recruiting for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Neurosurgical practice.
This position typically requires working two full clinic days, two surgery days and one administrative/pre-op day per week, in addition to call.
In this role you will:
- Perform first OR assist duties approximately two days a week.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
- Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
- Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
- Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
Qualifications:Previous Neurosugery experience preferred
Must hold an ACNP or AG-ACNP certification or Physician Assistant
OR experience Preferred
ACLS/BLS required
NIHSS and Modified Rankin certified
