Adjunct Instructor –Electrical Construction and Maintenance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance from an accredited college or university and four years hands-on experience in an electrical construction and/or maintenance related (or) Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational and Technical Education from an accredited college or university plus two years of hands-on experience in the electrical construction and maintenance field (or) Bachelor’s Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and an Electrical Journeyman’s Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicant will specialize in the areas of residential and commercial wiring with a strong foundation in electrical theory including but not limited to direct current and alternating current fundamentals. Applicant will also possess both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a field related to Electrical Construction & Maintenance.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Electrical Construction and Maintenance program is looking for a full-time instructor that specializes in the areas of transformers and motors, industrial motor control, automation technology. As well as instrumentation and process controls. The Instructor reports to the Department Chairperson of Building Systems Technology and performs the following duties:
• Provide instruction in Electrical Construction and Maintenance.
• Evaluate student performance.
• Participation on departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged and supported.
• At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
The Adjunct rate is $1,313.00 per contact hour.
