Quantitative Revenue Analyst (Ads business)

San Francisco, CA (hybrid)

5-plus months' contract (potential of extensions)

Project Overview:

You'll be in a high-profile quantitative business analyst role at the core of one of the highest priorities across the Ads business. You will analyze the growth and performance drivers of this new campaign type and how it is delivering on its promise to advertisers and have the opportunity to partner with Product Management (PM), Engineering, and Product Strategy (PL) teams to help guide executive decisions.

As a quantitative revenue analyst, you should be experienced with and passionate about using data to solve complex business questions and drive recommendations. A strong performer in this role will be a self-starter who is equally comfortable with writing code to mine insights out of the client's internal ads logs, analyzing external data to understand the motivations and decision-making process of the users and advertisers, and communicating succinct findings to senior executives.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Proactively analyze campaign performance, inventory-level trends, and advertiser segments to identify Ads business opportunities across key verticals, geos, and other segments.

• Examine macro trends and their impact on adoption / depth of ads performance revenue (e.g., competitive landscape, economic environment, advertiser value, etc.).

• Provide thought partnership on business opportunity and scenario modeling on net revenue impact. Prepare insightful business updates to senior Ads leaders to influence growth areas, strategy pivots, and investment levels.

• Build and maintain scalable financial tools/infrastructure (e.g., datasets, dashboards, financial models) to provide meaningful updates on growth areas and business performance. Contribute to the development of analytical frameworks to unlock new insights.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

Developing and improving data infrastructure: Combining data engineering skills with business analytics to identify and surface relevant, high-priority product signals for hundreds of downstream users.

Revenue reporting and insights: Synthesizing ads revenue performance and 'connecting the dots' with internal and external signals into a crisp narrative for stakeholders and executives.

Analytical deep-dives: Becoming an expert in specific product areas by collaborating closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market to explain key questions, affecting the product/engineering roadmap and/or go-to-market/sales roadmap.

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory

Education: BA or BS in a technical field, with at least 2+ years of work experience

Specific Tools or Applications experience:

Strong analytical and technical abilities to drive data analysis & insights for executive audiences (e.g., SQL, dashboard creation, advanced financial modeling, statistics, programming), with attention to detail.

Strong communication skills (e.g., slide decks, live presentations, whitepapers) to distill information concisely to an executive audience.
