• Soft skills: Have to be technical and have excellent communication skills. They have to articulate and speak clearly

• Location is: Princeton, NJ is preferred. OR: Near any other Munich Re office is OK too

• This role is a Hybrid: In Princeton (or other base office) 2-3 days per week and the rest is remote. In the beginning more in office to establish relationships.

Job Description:

The Application Developer of IT Business Solution Finance will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of finance applications, reporting solutions and dashboards.

Responsibilities:

• Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs, reporting solutions and KPI dashboards

• Conducts analysis work to understand business requirements and design solutions to meet emerging business demands

• Testing and evaluating new programs, reporting tools or finance specific applications to meet finance transformation demands (SaaS, COTS, Data Analytics software, Graphics, Web)

• Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing, upgrading or replacing these programs

• In-depth experience and understanding of software development lifecycle

• Experience with information security concepts including identity access management, data classification schemas, security awareness and application or server vulnerability monitoring.

• Contributes to and updates technical documents (e.g., product documentation, technical descriptions, architectural documents, service descriptions, operation manuals, authorization concepts).

• Analyses of current technical architecture and alignment of new development with MR coding and architectural standards

• Alignment with Project Management on tactical level and task tracking on operational level using Azure DevOps

Analysis Skills:

• Works with requirements engineer and project managers to understand complex projects and application maintenance or software development initiatives.

• Selects the most appropriate means of representing business requirements according to the MR essentials guidelines and project scope.

• Post go-live application or product support, analyzes and prioritizes enhancement or defects according to the established service level agreements.

• Assists where necessary to communicate incidents for responsible finance products and helps facilitate resolution, where applicable.

Other Skills:

• Proficient analytical, facilitation, communication and presentation skills.

• Ability and willingness to develop products with a team approach.

• Excellent business acumen with ability to easily grasp business topics and to view and present IT information with a business perspective in laymen's terms.

• Ability to handle multiple development initiatives with pending deadlines and concurrent demands.

• Drive for life-long learning.

Client is a shared service organization that delivers services to all Client P&C Companies and other group entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or information technology

• 5+ years' experience in IT application development using agile methodology and tools

• 5+ years' experience in analysis of business demands, deriving system requirements and translating into system solutions utilizing current technologies and solutions.

• 5+ years' experience with application development tools and programming languages.

• 5+ years' experience with cloud computing.

• Demonstrable track record of successful product implementations that delivered value to the business.

• Experience in finance applications and insurance business preferred.
