Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Head Field Hockey Coach
Supervision Exercised: Members of the Westfield State field hockey team and team managers.
Salary: $4,000.00 Stipend

General Statement of Duties:
Westfield State University has an immediate opening for an assistant part-time women's field hockey coach. Experience in collegiate or high school coaching is preferred, as well as an understanding of a competitive NCAA Division III program. The assistant coach will provide administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services under the direction and supervision of the Head Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
Essential:

• Assist with coordinating and performing coaching duties including traditional and non-traditional practices, game preparation, coaching of all student athletes.
• Assist with the development of team strategy and analyze performance of student athletes.
• Assist with scouting, recruiting and retention of student-athletes as directed by the head coach.
• Assist in management of team travel and meal coordination.
• All departmental, Conference and NCAA regulations will be followed.
• Assist in fundraising efforts.
• Assistants may be required to drive a van on occasion.
• Full committed during season and non-traditional season.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• All assistant coaches are required to be CPR/AED certified and certification opportunities exist annually within the department.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Possess and maintain CPR/1st Aid/AED certification.
• Valid Driver's license
• High level of competency in women's field hockey skill instruction.
• An understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with student athletes and staff.

Preferred Qualification:

• Three to four years of experience as a collegiate field hockey player.
• One to three years of experience coaching at the high school or college level.
