The Associate Production Scientist - 2nd Shift primary responsibility is to lead the group and assist the Supervisor and other departments to meet the manufacturing department needs at the St. Louis- Broadway site. Shift Hours: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm Use Chemistry / Biology skills to help troubleshoot product issuesComplete Deviations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventative Actions in Track WiseSet-up equipment ensuring operations are consistent with current operating proceduresEquipment includes bag filling equipment, disinfection equipment, sampling equipment, conveyors, and packaging equipmentIdentify malfunctions in equipment operation and with appropriate approval take corrective actions, such as reconfiguring equipment, adjustment of set points or adjusting operating parametersEnsure quality and quantity of product throughout production processCoordinate appropriate disposal of waste and complete compliance documentation Communicate and document status of processes, products, and equipmentCommunicate the status of production operations/equipment and bring deviations to the attention of supervisorProvide a complete and accurate batch record at the conclusion of production operations consistent with quality guidelinesEnter hours worked and raw materials used into SAPEnsure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current proceduresTake the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditionsParticipate in required safety and quality training and other related activitiesPerform In-Process assaysImprove manufacturing processes through application of experience and scientific principlesSet up and oversee operations when supervisor is absent
Physical Attributes:
Wear personal protective equipment such as respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended periods of timeLift and push up to 50 pounds unassisted
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or STEM degree ORHigh School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
GMP experienceLean Six Sigma trainingFamiliarity with basic chemistry and science principlesExperience with Digital/Smart Manufacturing conceptsTrack Wise and SAP experienceKnowledge of various processing techniques and equipmentGood interpersonal, conflict resolution, motivation, and leadership skills
