Batch DeveloperBCforward is currently seeking highly motivated C++ Developer for an opportunity located at Madison, WI Position Title: C++ Developer Location: Madison, WI Expected Duration: 12+ Months with possibility of extension Job Description:Will be working in a batch schedule environment primarily with C/Unix as the core language and servers. The developer will be coding in C as their primary task. Oracle is the primary database and is used throughout the company. We are looking for driven developers who pursue challenges and are not content to sit in the background - unless they love to bury their head in code! We also are looking for people who have done production support for a large batch cycle system. Developers that thrive in design efforts and like solving problems will be well suited to these opportunities. Not looking for developers who focus on listing 20 languages of experience, we want to hear what you have done with code and how you built solutions. The key is communicating how you contribute to success and delivery as a developer. Essential Job Functions:* Participates as a member of development team. * Completes development of units and also conducts reviews designs prepared by junior development teams. * Participates in code reviews. Prepares and executes unit tests. * Will perform unit design. * Applies Gainwell and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of moderate to advanced complexity. * Follows the defined systems development life cycle processes and local procedures Education and Experience Required* Bachelors degree or higher plus a minimum of 3 years experience, or a minimum of 5 years experience Knowledge and Skills* Four to Six years of programming experience writing code using UNIX (C, C++, shell, editors) * Intermediate Understanding of RDBMS database, Oracle. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work with and support remote workers o Able to communicate design and function internally and with external clients * Experience working with clients doing detailed design work and coming up with proposed solutions * Self motivated problem solver who actively participates in solution development. * Follows the defined systems development life cycle processes and local procedures * Advanced understanding of modern software design and development methodologies * Advanced understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting, and testing methodologies. * Understanding of basic Database Administration. * Understanding of quality and security standards.
