Primary Responsibilities

The Cable Assembler is responsible for assembling complex cables in accordance with drawings, travelers and manufacturing procedures.

Your day-to-day work may include, but is not limited to:

  • Performs complex assembly duties in accordance with drawings, travelers, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Operates shop hand tools, microscope, solder irons and ultrasonic cleaner.
  • Uses spooling equipment to measure and cut wire.
  • Uses test meters to check the quality of the assembled cables and connectors.
  • Operates label machines in accordance with the operator's manual.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assists other assemblers as needed, in order to meet shipping demands.
  • Assembles miniature cables, using standard connectors such as 10-32, BNC & TNC, and MIL-STD Connectors.
  • Troubleshoots cable assemblies.
  • Flexible and capable of processing more complex cable assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly.
  • Must be able to read and understand assembly drawings.
  • Advanced schematic reading and ability to troubleshoot cable assemblies.
  • Advanced reading, writing, and shop math skills.
  • Experience soldering miniature parts under a microscope.
  • Use of simple hand tools such as crimpers and ovens.
  • IPC-A-620 certification.

Compensation

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
