Location/Division Specific Information

Location: Bridgewater, NJ

Compensation: $20.75/hr

Shift: 1st shift - 7:00am - 3:30pm

Discover Impactful Work:

The Chemical Packager is responsible for weighing, filling, labeling, sealing and other packaging operations as well as general warehouse duties relating to packaging materials such as unloading bottle trucks and keeping packaging materials in order.

A day in the Life:

• Performs weighing, filling, labeling, sealing and other packaging operations as well as general warehouse duties relating to packaging materials such as unloading bottle trucks and keeping packaging materials in order. Completes necessary information for recordkeeping.
• Transports bulk material, bottles, caps and supplies to filling location.
• Transports packaging goods to warehouse.
• Sets up scale, checks bottle size, sets up containers to be filled.
• Sees that all specifications and special instructions are followed on the job card or instruction cards.
• Performs necessary quality checks.
• Checks materials to see that they are correct.
• Responsible for working safely and for producing quality products.
• Responsible for maintaining assigned equipment clean and in good condition.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Keys to Success:

Education

• A high school diploma or GED is required.

Experience

• 1 or more years' experience working in manufacturing environment and/or chemical packaging environment preferred.
• Forklift operator experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of the purpose, operation, and assembly of the machinery and equipment and mechanical ability preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Candidates who are committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
• Willingness to learn various equipment including powered industrial trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Ability to manipulate/handle production materials up to 50 kg and lift containers weighing up to 40 kg.
• Ability to stand for the duration for shift requirements.
• Ability to operate machinery intermittently throughout the workday.
• Required to wear safety glasses with side shields, steel toed safety shoes/boots, uniforms (provided by Thermo Fisher Scientific) and any other job specific PPE.
• Handles hazardous waste as generated by Operations.
