Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must comply with all safety procedures
• Works a scheduled shift
• In addition to Service Technician III duties, performs, with little to no supervision:
• A variety of operational and maintenance tasks independently that are relevant to maintaining safe and reliable operations of water distribution facilities and systems ensuring operational compliance with state and federal regulations. Performs tasks on a day-to-day basis independently and during abnormal operations conditions.
• Ability to develop procedures relative to the operation, repair and maintenance of all components
• Ability to understand and carry out written and/or verbal work orders and assignments
• Ability to utilize GPS mapping system
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to perform simple math and algebra calculations with the use of a calculator
• Ability to utilize CMMS system to create, schedule and complete work orders Install, maintain and repair water mains, valves, pumps, hydrants and other service equipment.
• Install new meters and service frozen meters and service lines.
• Assist customers with low pressure, dirty water complaints, and high bill
• investigation.
• Able to perform all the job duties of lower service technicians.
• Assists management with operational needs as directed
• Assist with maintenance activities and capital projects in the distribution system Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed and work extended hours to accommodate Company needs

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

• Minimum 8 years' experience in water industry plus D-4 Full or ability to obtain Full license within 12 months of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

• Valid Driver's License
