Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Clinical Program Supervisor oversees and monitors the provision of program management and development, and all clinical care. This includes clinical supervision, staff training and development, and clinical program development. This position collaborates with leadership for long term and short term planning, and support for strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contribute to Eskenazi's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence
  • Manages processes related to promoting Eskenazi's pillars: patient access to care, organizational growth, financial stewardship, staff engagement, and quality of care
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to substance use counselors/clinicians
  • Oversees staff's response to patient crisis intervention
  • Monitors staff compliance with productivity requirements, and develops improvement plan when requirements are not met
  • Oversees, provides management support, direction and guidance in ethical and professional conduct by clinical staff and the corresponding staff tools
  • Facilitates monthly team staffing meetings, and coordinates Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) continuing education for clinicians/substance use counselors
  • Provides oversight of assessing appropriateness of potential MAT patients and physician referrals
  • Provides oversight of the mental and physical health care of patients on staff's patient caseloads - including collection of urine drug screens, and coordination of care with multi-disciplinary treatment team
  • Provides referrals for outside treatment for patients with opioid use disorders who are not appropriate for primary care driven MAT
  • Provides oversight of consultation for primary care patients to assess for substance use disorders and links to appropriate services
  • Oversees recruitment, hiring and training of qualified clinical staff
  • Coordinates X-Drug Enforcement Administration (X-DEA) certification for physicians in order to promote MAT prescribing
  • Tracks data and outcomes for Primary Care MAT programming
  • Implements and provides follow up evaluation of MAT program in order to ensure compliance with regulations and established protocols
  • Acts as a liaison with primary care leadership and clinical personnel to facilitate progress of substance use collaborative operational objectives

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work plus three years of experience in a mental health setting required
  • Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) required
  • Qualified Behavioral Health Professional status required
  • Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi's driving policy standards

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of psychopharmacology for common mental health disorders that is within appropriate scope of practice
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply evidence-based counselling techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team setting
  • Ability to participate in staff development to assure professional growth
  • Ability to provide direct clinical care to clients
