The Cloud Developer will be involved in new cloud application development resulting in robust, reliable and secure cloud platform solutions and will play an integral part in advancing the Cloud eco-system and culture of technical excellence. As part of the team, you will be expected to be involved in cloud development and implementation efforts, interface with vendors, develop tools and organize open source and commercial components, and development / execute on testing, to solve problems for running current and proposed processes, functions, and applications on cloud infrastructure(s). The candidate will possess a deep understanding of various programming languages such as Angular, PowerShell, Node.js, Jenkins/CICD, Git, Docker/Kubernetes, Serverless, NoSQL/Cassandra, and app-development methodology like high-availability, continuity, and disaster recovery.

Primary Position Tasks:

  • Participate in the development and implement Cloud solutions, functions, and applications in Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Google Cloud Platform (GCP) encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies
  • Participate in delivery of new service offerings, working closely with the Infrastructure team to deliver low latency, high-performance applications
  • Participate in the development of applications, functions, and processes that integrate future Cloud topologies (Azure, AWS services and interfaces) that minimize costs while maximizing performance, reliability, and manageability
  • As part of a team, research, analyze, recommend and implement new technologies, standard processes, tools and techniques to further Cloud offerings in support of our business
  • As part of a team, recommend tools/approaches for manageability, zero downtime, scalability, repeatability, automation
  • Contributor on team to develop tools to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Interpret and provide solutions on complex technologies/architectures/development
  • Participate on team to create automated approaches and scripts for system administration tasks where possible and appropriate
  • Participate on team to develop automation and orchestration capabilities which allow us to operate at scale
  • Help develop clear, concise installation, configuration procedures, runbooks and contributing to the maintenance of operational standards
  • Contributor on team to define and document standard operating procedures and protocols from a security perspective
  • Participate on team to develop, support, and document automated build and configuration management processes


Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse, server environment
  • Beginner/Intermediate knowledge of the primary Microsoft Azure services (Azure Virtual Machines, Containers, Databases, and Development Tools).
  • Experience implementing Azure services in a variety of distributed computing environments
  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewalling.
  • Knowledge of public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, Google or other major vendors of public cloud
  • Bachelor-level degree in engineering, information technology, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
  • Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and issue management in a multi-platform environment
  • Basic knowledge of emerging IT technology solutions, industry trends, and progressive operations methodology
  • Deployment and operational expertise Windows, Linux, and other Operating Systems.


Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:
  • Experienced with networking and network/system security
  • Knowledge of project management methodology
  • Ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and organizationally complex environment as well as effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
  • Oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of Automation and Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI-CD)
  • Implement secure cloud application environments with centralized identity management.
  • Complete complex tasks with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of load balancing and scalability techniques
  • Hands-on scripting expertise in at least one mainstream scripting language (i.e. PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Experience with ASP DOT NET, and frontend development with Angular
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code IDEs
  • Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with a desire to take on a challenge
  • Strong self-awareness and self-motivation
  • Front end UI development experience
  • Background in Microsoft based applications

Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):

Chantilly, VA - This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment and allows for some level of remote work.

Special Requirements:
This candidate will operate remotely (with Chantilly, VA corporate offices option).
