Better requires process, discipline, and simplification

In this role, you will own, end to end, the software development process to include defining, designing, and implementing complex, multi-tier distributed software systems. You will use your technical and domain expertise to solve product challenges and collaborate with other engineers in geographically distributed development centers. You will provide creative and effective business solutions in conformance to emerging technology and security standards. You will apply Agile methodology daily and follow Definition of Done (DoD) process for better quality by maintaining unit and integration test coverage. We will look to you to Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll out applications with cross-functional impacts.

For this role, you will have a bachelor's in computer science or a related field with 6 plus years of software development experience. You will be a full stack Java developer, with at least 2 years working in a cloud microservice environment in either AWS or GCP. You will also have had experience in enterprise scale software applications and experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks. You have an excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and OOA/D. You can demonstrated experience in modern programming languages (for example, Java/C++) and design patterns. You have experience in assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards. You will have performed unit testing and mocking frameworks. It would be nice for you to have HTTP, XML, JSON, NodeJS, and JavaScript. It would also be nice for you to have experience in Agile Development methodologies.

Annual base salary gross: $82,485.00 - $140,745.00. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union's total compensation package for employees.
