Job Summary:
The Patient Simulation Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and day to day operations of the WellStar Advanced Patient Simulation Center (APSC) and Clinical Skills Labs (CSL). Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating Simulations for the system. The Coordinator will provide for simulation related maintenance, repair and supplies for the system. The coordinator will partner with clinical experts to provide educational activities and simulation education which ensures competency.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Administration and Operations - Act as liaison for the system with manufacturers of the simulators and related technologies. - Maintain current knowledge of simulator capabilities, development, and scenario programming. - Oversee the creation and maintenance of a master simulation training schedule for the system. - Oversee the scheduling of instructors/trainers and personnel involved with all training /classes. - Leadership role in the initial and ongoing development of the APSC and CSL. - Monitor the daily operations of system simulators to ensure efficiency and effective utilization of resources. - Oversee and record the simulation costs for equipment and supplies for the system. - Develop and maintain all files related to simulation utilization for the system. Maintenance and Inventory: - Provide maintenance, minor repair, and security of simulators across the system and associated lab equipment and troubleshooting simulator software and hardware. - Set up and maintain Simulation equipment for the system. - Coordinate major repairs of simulation equipment with manufacturers for the system. - Order and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies necessary to operate all clinical programs. - Program upgraded software and new scenarios into simulator computer, revise old scripts to meet the goals of a particular session or audience's level of experience and set up directories for each simulator instructor. Educational Activities: - Train and assist professional personnel in the incorporation of simulation and other learning technologies into curricula, including programming, development of educational materials, structure of the session, selection of appropriate equipment, and use of survey instruments. - Provide technical assistance to instructors/staff utilizing simulation throughout the system. - Prepare equipment necessary for simulator and other learning technologies sessions (e.g. lay out intubation equipment, airway management tools and anesthesia drugs, set up accounts and passwords) and participate in the scenarios as different role-playing parts. - Independently operate simulator scenarios and prepare participants. - Partner with subject matter experts to apply knowledge of clinical skills, physiology and pharmacology in the creation of simulator scenarios and associated documentation supplies - Participate in the development and implementation of simulator and other learning technologies research studies and coordinate data management. - Maintain proficiency in existing and emerging technologies, including basic theory, design and implementation, by maintaining a literature base, evaluating new equipment and materials, and participating in educational opportunities related to patient simulation. Management Activities: - Creates opportunities for stakeholder input through the formation of advisory groups, ad hoc groups, and surveys. - Provides input to budget formation and adheres to annual capital and operating budgets. - Develops and monitors clinical learning standards, policies, and procedures. - Recruits, develops, leads, and evaluates staff on simulator operations competency Develops, delivers, supports all education programs within Organizational Learning as needed in areas of content expertise.
Required Minimum Education:
Associate's Degree of Science Degree in related discipline Required and Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
Cert Medical Assistant 1.00 Required Respiratory Care Prof 1.00 Required Reg Nurse (Single State) 1.00 Required RN - Multi-state Compact 1.00 Required Basic Life Support 2.00 Required BLS - Instructor 2.00 Required BLS - Provisional 2.00 Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support 3.00 Preferred ACLS - Instructor 3.00 Preferred ACLS - Provisional 3.00 Preferred
Additional Licenses and Certifications:

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 2 years technology experience, simulation software and hardware, MS applications and MAC Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:
Ability to prioritize multiple projects. Able to learn new technologies Attention to detail.
