Job Summary

The CPQ Developer is responsible for collecting requirements, design, development, testing, implementing and support of Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ) solutions throughout the enterprise. This role will require working with Product Offering managers, analysts to capture the configuration, commerce needs associated with different products and services.

The ideal candidate should have prior implementation experiences of Oracle CPQ (BigMachines) system, demonstrate strong technical skills, hands on experience and good understanding of business processes, a focus on user experience improvement, and a drive to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency through implementation and maintenance of Vertiv's CPQ system along with other associated applications like Sales Cloud CRM, Oracle EBS, Oracle PD/PIM. The CPQ Developer must have hands on experience with all functions of Oracle CPQ (BigMachines) application especially configurator development. CPQ Developer will work to achieve streamlined processes, superior quality of service, and outstanding reliability and availability. CPQ Developer must be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision, comes with can-do, jump-right-in attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with representative from analysts, Product Offering managers to obtain requirements for products and services.
  • Designs best-in-class CPQ solutions to accommodate configuration, commerce requirements.
  • Supports highly integrated CPQ solutions either by extending existing functionality or build from beginning.
  • Build new and support existing SOA based integrations to CRM, ERP systems.
  • Provide suggestions to optimize utilization of Oracle CPQ for optimal performance.
  • Create and maintain product configurator specification including item master, sales UI, rules, pricing, proposals, submittals.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues to support smooth business operations.
  • Develop test scripts, execute to support ongoing project work.
  • Assist in new product introduction by participating in design reviews and advising on product structure that would assist in the configuration of product
  • Design complex product configuration models using CPQ platform to ensure that the resulting configured products can be manufactured.
  • Develop the code and master data required to set up the configuration model
  • Unit test the model to validate configuration rules, BOM generation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering to ensure the testing and proofing of configuration models prior to release.
  • Participate in the engineering change processes to ensure all relevant changes are reflected in the configuration models.
  • Define and follow product configuration modelling standards to improve development efficiencies and reduces development cycles.
  • Setup, Item, Pricing, BOM structure in Oracle CPQ.
  • Assist in meeting, schedules, and deadlines for implementation of new products and engineering changes.
  • Acts as technical subject matter expert (SME) for Oracle CPQ platform.
  • Adheres to on-going global CPQ-related initiatives and standards.
  • Learn new applications/platforms to support the job function as needed.
  • Adhere to software migration, documentation storage and retention policies as it relates to IT audit requirements.
  • Actively works on related projects to broaden experiences and help the business accomplish its goals.
  • Works on related projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or IT or related.
  • Three years or more experience in implementations and support Oracle CPQ/BigMachines or other CPQ applications.
  • Strong experience with following Oracle CPQ areas:
    • Commerce - maintain existing (break fix, enhance), build new commerce configurations, preferably using JET UI.
    • Configurations - build new complex product configuration, maintain existing.
    • BOM based configurations.
    • System Configurations
    • Integrating CPQ application with CRM, ERP systems using SOA and flat files.
    • Document Engine
    • Experience with visual configurator like CDS, Atlatl (preferred)
    • Advanced Pricing Rules, Approval Routing, AJAX Configuration Rules.
    • Hands on experience using BML, BMQL, SOAP, REST, JavaScript, CSS.
    • Integration experience with commerce and configurations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Communication Skills- able to elicit and communicate requirements among stakeholders and present ideas in an easily comprehensible manner. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all organization levels
  • Interaction Skills- able to work in a team setting and assist stakeholders in articulating problems and opportunities, establishing viable testing plans and reaching agreement on a quality future state. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Software Applications- skilled in use of contemporary project management and office productivity platforms to facilitate collaboration and communication among developers and stakeholders
