Shift Start Times:

• Nights: 7:00 PM (36-hour weeks, 12-hour shifts)
• Evenings: 12:00 PM (40-hour weeks, 10-hour shifts)
• Days: 8:00 AM (40-hour weeks, 10-hour shifts)

Basic Function:

The essential task of a CT Technologist is operating computed tomography equipment and accessories.

They are responsible for performing tube warm-ups, calibrations, and applying principles of radiation protection during exams to minimize unnecessary exposure.

CT Technologists conduct all CT examinations, including biopsies, 3D renderings, and reformations. A strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, vascular anatomy, and abnormal pathology is essential.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Education program
• Current NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, with injection certification
• ARRT Certification required; Computed Tomography preferred at hire or obtained within 24 months of hire
• 2 or more years of experience as a CT Technologist is preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push/pull, lift/move 35 lbs.
• Perform moderately difficult manual manipulations (e.g., using a keyboard, writing, filing) for extended periods.
• Hand-eye coordination for tasks such as data entry, typing, and using photocopiers.
• Stationary work at a workstation for prolonged periods.
• Ability to comprehend spoken English and communicate effectively.

Primary Responsibilities of the Position:

• Perform all CT exams under the direction of a Radiologist.
• Work in a team environment with a positive attitude.
• Assess lab values relevant to exams.
• Operate specialized imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images.
• Conduct CT scan studies and Special Procedures as ordered/directed.
• Operate radiographic imaging equipment associated with Special Procedures and Computed Tomography.
• Prepare IV Contrast Power injectors.
• Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
• Participate in on-call and holiday rotation assignments.
• Administer Contrast Media as required.
