Description:
Data Quality Analyst, Customer Data Platform
This role is responsible for writing data quality requirements, validation rules, and metrics to address data
issues that impact US Customer business processes and interactions.
• Identify critical data elements (CDE) vital for business operations and decision-making within curated
ready-to-use datasets, e.g.: Customer Profile & Billing Account, Premise and Service Location, Industry
Segmentation, Electric and Gas Usage, Bill Insights, Rates & Tariffs, Communication Consents &
Preferences, Energy Efficiency Program Participation, and Financial Assistance Enrollment
• Perform discovery data analysis on source system and post-process data to understand how data inputs
and analytical outputs line up to business processes. Research data lineage and elicit input from business
SMEs and stakeholders.
• Define CDE validation rules, fit-for-purpose thresholds, and overall KPIs to identify and assess data
quality issues, root causes, and patterns.
• Write business requirements, features, and stories to guide technical implementation of the validation
rules, thresholds, and KPIs into user-facing data quality scorecard reports. Conduct knowledge transfer
and design sessions with technical implementation teams.
• Features consist of concise and insightful definition of business hypotheses, evaluation of business value,
concise descriptions, and definition of acceptance criteria.
• Success is defined by utilization of the scorecard reports by business operations teams, digital and
marketing teams, data owners, and data stewards.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm that development meets feature requirements.
• Present findings, business requirements, analytical representations, and action plans to technical and
non-technical users, via verbal communication and written documents and PowerPoint slides.
• Provide daily status updates to scrum team and leadership.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience writing and documenting business and functional feature
requirements, preferably in data management or governance
• Experience working in an agile environment using scrum
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with Master Data Management data environments
• Proficient in SQL data querying
• Proficient in exploring data sources and validating data outputs
• Knowledge of and experience in utility companies are a plus
• Ability to work with large teams and numerous stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex technical details for a nontechnical audience
• BA/BS in Business or STEM discipline
