The department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Asset Management to work at UHealth. The Director, Asset Management reports to the Associate Vice President, Supply Chain Strategy and Value Analysis, and is responsible for leading the strategic capital equipment deployment and fleet management across the UHealth System to support a cross-functional and collaborative high performing, efficient and cost-effective process. The incumbent will provide strategic planning expertise that facilitates the understanding of current assets and structure, the enhancement, modification, and restructuring of these to achieve maximum value. The Director, Asset Management will be responsible for the establishment, strategic management, adherence, and continual improvement of a streamlined method for selecting the "highest-valued" capital equipment to be used in fulfilling the organization's patient care mission for determining the appropriate supplier and most effective equipment selection.

  • Oversee and establish Central Equipment Processing and Distribution departments to manage assets.
  • Actively work with their team as well as members of UHealth's health care team to facilitate and lead the capital equipment process from strategic market intelligence assessment, strategic partnership alignment, supplier/vendor selection, capital equipment procurement and implementation, and fleet management.
  • Leads the Supply Chain Services teams in a way that supports the University's efforts in minimizing variability in capital equipment suppliers, increasing quality, and reducing
  • Manage dedicated UHealth Tower capital equipment coordinator for routine capital allocated for the fiscal year.
  • Works with the Clinical Engineering Department to identify equipment fleet opportunities for optimization.
  • Presents capital equipment updates, status, and budgetary impacts at monthly value analysis meetings including the Executive Value Analysis Committee.
  • Partners with the Value Analysis and Sourcing Teams to develop initiative strategy, clinical requirements, and category-specific terms and conditions for Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions.
  • Collaborates in the short and long-term strategic planning process to identify sourcing opportunities at the local, regional, and system levels.
  • Works with Sourcing to oversee contract negotiation of RFP terms and conditions with suppliers as well as summarize proposal results.
  • Works with the Construction teams and Medical Equipment Planners to identify, standardize, select, and deploy capital equipment to support growth strategies.
  • Oversee and actively participate in the Capital Committee and associated aspects of the respective Committee.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, or Engineering.
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 4+ years of healthcare experience in a health system. Academic health system experience preferred. Successful experience in the coordination and implementation of processes. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in overseeing equipment planning and implementation
  • Proven management skills, including project management, desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, business, and management principles.
  • Knowledge of healthcare products and equipment, inventory sources, and alternative sources of Equipment tracking systems.
  • Ability to analyze equipment fleets for optimization, utilization, and recommended enhancements.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and the ability to present complex information to a diverse stakeholder group including executive leadership, physicians, and clinicians in both small and large audiences.
  • Strong Excel and Business Intelligence skills (e.g. ability to create and analyze Pivot tables), with the ability to analyze complex information and formulate logical and objective conclusions.
  • Strong project planning and project management skills (preferred ability to manage Smartsheet).
  • Ability to structure and prioritize work to achieve specific deliverables in an environment characterized by tight deadlines and competing priorities.
