SUMMARY

Responsible for creating and driving comprehensive communication strategies for the Medicare Advantage (MA) lines of business. This role reports to the Vice President, Corporate Communications and serves as a key advisor to the EVP, Senior Health Services, to provide insight and strategic communication recommendations. This position is key to developing a comprehensive communications program to support SHS go-to-market strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create, drive and continually evolve comprehensive communication strategy for MA lines of business and Senior Health Services (SHS) product & services - internally and externally.
  • Inform marketing messaging based upon market response, competitive landscape, and growth and retention goals.
  • Inform and support stakeholder engagement efforts including consumers, agents, employers, community organizations and key enablement partners.
  • Simplify the complexity inherent in the Medicare business model to inform communications strategy, support high employee engagement, and energize enterprise partners to enable and support high-growth business opportunities.
  • Maintain strong and trusted relationships with senior leadership to develop and drive communication strategy.
  • Consult directly with EVP of SHS on communication strategy, providing insight and strategic recommendations, specifically on communications.
  • Liaison with Marketing Communications leadership to execute go to market efforts in support of SHS.
  • Guide the determination of budgets necessary for successfully achieving the strategic communications objectives of SHS - internally and externally.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a health plan or health care system.
  • Minimum five (5) years working within a large organization to develop communication strategy.
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Experience with Medicare insurance market and products strongly preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises a varied number of employees in the designated department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed both in a virtual and onsite office locations with minimal hazards. Travel is required with occasional overnight stays. Must possess a valid driver's license with a record that meets corporate standards.
