Position Title: Director, Enterprise Risk

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Your role

Digital Realty is seeking a Director, Enterprise Risk to deliver the company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework. Reporting to the Vice President, ERM, the Director, Enterprise Risk will work with key stakeholders to ensure that Digital Realty's global risk profile is effectively and efficiently managed through the ERM Framework. Achieving this outcome will require significant consultation with internal stakeholders throughout the company and coordination with external stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Integrate, design, implement, evaluate and improve the company's ERM Framework
  • Facilitate the articulation of the company's global risk criteria (e.g., risk tolerance)
  • Lead the assessment, monitoring and reporting of the company's global risk profile
  • Coordinate the company's periodic Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA) process
  • Develop, recommend and execute strategies for managing the global risk profile
  • Identify, analyze, evaluate and recommend key ERM solutions and vendors
  • Serve as primary business owner of the enterprise risk register software solution
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage and resolve ERM issues
  • Oversee the global planning, budgeting, allocation and control for risk management
  • Support the governance and operation of the company's risk management practices
  • Review, discuss and advise on contractual provisions related to enterprise risk profile
  • Draft and review disclosures related to the company's risk profile and risk management
  • Provide assurance that the company's enterprise risk profile is within its risk tolerance
  • Provide advice and guidance from a technical and professional perspective, as necessary
  • Lead the integration, review and continual improvement of risk management practices
  • Ensure records related to the company's global risk profile are complete, accurate and timely
  • Delegate responsibilities and provide direction to other team members, as appropriate

What you'll need
  • 15+ years of professional experience in risk management. 10+ years leading ERM at a large, global publicly traded company or providing services in similar contexts (e.g., consulting) is preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience in a critical infrastructure industry. Real estate and/or data center experience is preferred. Other industries with similar risk profiles and practices are acceptable.
  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline is required. A graduate degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred. A professional credential in a risk management discipline is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, analytical, presentation, writing, team building problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, project management and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to lead through influence as well as authority.
  • Self-starter, with the sound judgment and demonstrated ability to make decisions (within authority) and follow through to achieve objectives with limited oversight.
