Core mission:

The Director, US Procurement has the critical objective to build, lead, and develop the US Indirect Procurement organization, including building and owning the standards for how the team operates to deliver flawless execution of the procurement strategies into actions for each assigned business/function. This role requires strong collaboration skills and hands-on leadership style capable of leading change through communication, action, and influence.

This role will serve as the procurement lead business partner for the US Regional Leadership Team, and is a key contributor to meeting EBITDA target, both through cost reduction, demand management, and bringing innovation/capabilities from the supply market to drive sales and adherence and championing for enterprise-wide procure-to-pay process.

The Director, US Procurement is responsible to deliver savings targets, driving cash objectives, accountable for developing and managing the overall sourcing and supplier management process and delivering fit for purpose vendor solutions meeting business needs while adhere to global procure-to-pay standard and policies.

Main responsibilities:

Deliver savings

  • Identify, plan, and prioritize savings opportunities across a portfolio of indirect categories (circa $400m across marketing, media, commercial, medical, professional and employee services, G&A, transport, and distribution)
  • Deliver savings targets in line with US regional EBITDA ambition and ensure validation of savings through transparent and visible baselining process.
  • Achieve regional and global cash, payment term, and ESG objectives and targets via supplier negotiation and business collaboration

Develop regional sourcing strategies and execution plans, and drive alignment between global category strategy and the needs and requirements of the region
  • Translate global/regional business strategies into actionable regional sourcing plans: 1) define regional category sourcing strategies, and 2) implement/execute global sourcing plans in US, including customizing regional sourcing strategy to drive value in specific functional business environment, together with legal & regulatory context, require influencing regional business stakeholders to align to global sourcing strategies and business objectives/vision.

Business Stakeholder Management
  • Business partnering with the US Leadership Team to maximize external expenditure while providing thought leadership to senior stakeholders and customers, actively shaping the Company's overall strategy through the sourcing lens.
  • Understand business needs with strong business acumen to execute sourcing and supplier negotiation with excellence and agility to deliver business objectives
  • Address business unit and functional business concerns and issues with speed and resolution; assist regional BUs and functional stakeholders to One Galderma vision with sourcing strategy and supplier selection to drive optimization of spend

Lead and develop people
  • Prioritize team's work among several initiatives, and provide performance feedback and career counseling
  • Act as a role model both for and outside of the team, coaching team members, and fostering a performance culture to drive best results and continuous improvements
  • Develop team talents through constructive career development plans and pathway for advancement

Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, required
  • MBA preferred
  • 15 or more years of previous work experience in Management Consulting, Marketing, Finance, Procurement and Sourcing, or a combination of these areas
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience in leading teams, projects, programs and directing the allocation of resources
  • Greenfield operations experience, with a high ability to work autonomously, with minimum guidance, while dealing with a high degree of ambiguity
  • Category Expert in indirect spend categories (G&A and Commercial/Marketing), with expert knowledge of at least 5 indirect categories
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a matrix organization, across functional reporting lines
