Job Title: Director of Operations

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services (EGS) has an immediate need for a Director of Operations in Alexandria, VA.

In this role, you will be a part of the EMCOR Government Services organization (EGS) located in Alexandria, VA. EGS offers an experienced single-source solution for meeting the routine and mission-critical Facility's operations and maintenance needs of federal, state, local and other government organizations. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, training, operations synchronization, and integration of HQ functions to foster Performance Excellence at the site level. This is a tactical position in which your work will be varied.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead with our EMCOR values to foster teamwork and integrated effort in the support of our field leaders and our People. This is a cross functional role that requires a leader of character to lead by influence with limited direct authority. This role is a key integrator who enables the success of the rest of the Team.
  • Responsible for synchronizing the company's business activities in time and rhythm to ensure situational awareness across the enterprise.
  • Assist in the development and supervise the execution of the company multi-echeloned training program.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting operational status horizontally and vertically. Specific tasks include gathering data, quantitative and financial analysis and summarizing findings in an actionable report and/or presentation to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for assisting in strategic planning, and the development of KPIs to foster a data driven culture for delivering results.
  • Problem solve using a systems thinking approach to define the problem, develop Courses of Action, then evaluate and provide recommendations for business solutions. Responsible for the development of Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM) and project management for high priority and high impact projects. In this role, you are responsible for the effective management of all assigned projects, from initiation to planning, executing, controlling, and closing including the development and maintenance of all project documentation, providing status updates (quantitative and qualitative) along the way to Company executives.
  • Contribute with teammates and guide continual process improvement for our key business workflows
  • Supervise the business operations section in direct support of training and assisting the site Program Management/Admin offices in maintaining key business processes and reporting.
Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university
    • Minimum of 5 years of planning and leadership experience with strong project management, problem solving, and communication skills
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, to diverse groups across all organizational levels. Present information, analysis, and recommendations in an organized and concise manner that allows easy understanding and decision making. Easily gain trust and confidence of teammates.
    • High level of proficiency with MS Excel Spreadsheet software, MS Word Processing Software, and MS Power Point Presentation Software.
