Job Summary

Responsible for planning, developing, and directing the organization's policies, programs, initiatives, and systems surrounding quality control. Directs processes and product testing to ensure materials, parts, and products comply with established quality standards and applicable regulations. Develops and implements quality standards, tools, training, and methods used by the organization. Monitors and evaluates the performance of the production process and quality of resulting products to improve existing quality standards. Develops goals to support the broader functional objectives of the organization and approves policies developed in sub-functions of the business to achieve overall organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet critical to quality specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain consistent quality standards, systems, and procedures across like manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and support a comprehensive raw material and finished good supplier quality program.
  • Support R&D and procurement to refine an import supplier and quality program.
  • Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments and roles to define and refine quality standards.
  • Coach, train and support the local plant quality personnel.
  • Develop and implement quality standard testing and evaluation processes.
  • Facilitate communication among production sites and management.
  • Assess test results and approve recommended changes.
  • Maintain the quality manual and review quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Conduct random inspections and quality control checks.
  • Periodically report status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
  • Work in conjunction with R&D Laboratory to understand the code and testing process and liaise with suppliers and agencies when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior quality role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Travel up to 75%.
