SUMMARY

The Director Operations is responsible for providing leadership, management, and improvement of all functions of the company's Export/Imports and Domestic Operations. This position is expected to enhance the financial performance of the operation by attaining higher levels of productivity, efficiency, and customer experience. Will interfaces with stakeholders and collaborates with a variety of other functional areas in order to deliver program and company results that achieve business goals and objectives. You will also collaborate with internal business stakeholders to create procurement logistic solutions that meet or exceed service and cost expectations and special projects as defined by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • You will be charged with forecast development, management, and reporting of operation expenditures against stablished annual operating budgets.
  • The position will also provide strategic direction to the Stations Operations.
  • Ensure efficiency, dependability, and consistency within the department across all locations
  • Oversee Miami Hub Operations.
  • Prepare, submit for approval, and oversee implementation of departmental budgets
  • Select, evaluate, develop and mentor Managers

  • Identify, record and reallocate underutilized or unused distribution assets including vehicles, racking or material handling equipment
  • Fosters a winning culture and process driven environment, to motivate the teams to deliver success consistently.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory
  • Ensure corporate compliance with DOT, OSHA, FAA, TSA, and other related regulations
  • Lead and be responsible for superior central distribution center operations
  • Select, evaluate, develop and mentor management staff for efficiency, dependability and consistency
  • Prepare, submit for approval and oversee implementation of its budget
  • Drive compliance toward safety procedures and aesthetically pleasing warehouse space, both indoors and outdoors, at all locations
  • Ensure the operations consistently functions in accordance with the values, principles, vision, mission and policies of Amerijet meeting all legal requirements
  • Responsible for the communication, interpretation and implementation of the approved policies and goals within the department
  • Participate in outside professional activities that are advantageous toward enhancing the prestige of our corporation
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse and logistics operations with progressive levels of responsibility.
  • Experience managing and directing staff to achieve superior results.
  • Ability to operate and manage successfully in a matrixed environment.
  • Fluent in English a must.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10-15 years of progressively increasing managerial experience in Operations; experience in driving performance through metrics and use data to drive continuous process improvement.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
