Position Overview

What will I be doing?

The Director, Alternative Data, will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the product strategy, both the vision and prioritization, for alternative data products. Examples of alternative data include credit card transaction data, web traffic, product reviews, and geolocation information. This individual partners closely with clients and internal teams to deliver quality products that enable our clients to make data-driven decisions and drive their growth. As a member of the newly created Foundations and CPG Products team, this individual must possess a strategic, forward-thinking mindset in order to assess the competitive landscape, and make thoughtful recommendations to further align and utilize alt data on a global scale. The Director will work closely across the Global Product organization and cross-functionally with the Commercial, Technology, Operations, and Research Science teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product strategy for alternative data products
  • Improve global alignment across products and services by developing new or standardizing existing processes and methodologies
  • Perform regular assessments and audits of all alternative data products to ensure global alignment, looking closely at data granularity, methodologies, pricing, coverage, and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with the Innovation team to develop prototypes and provide recommendations to bring forward to production, focusing on quality and accuracy
  • Implement global methodologies in collaboration with Research Science teams
  • Ensure global alignment for all new launches, acquisitions, and enhancements
  • Develop documentation of all policies in partnership with Research Science teams

Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience in Market Research, Consumer Goods, or Retail Buying Office
  • Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong product management experience working with data/information preferably in syndicated and/or custom research; Experience working with POS/consumer data a plus
  • Solid organizational and project management skills; ability to manage and deliver on multiple project deliverables simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication skills; demonstrates confidence, composure, and diplomacy when delivering any message
  • Strong understanding of data and analysis, with the ability to translate the data into actionable business results for the client
  • Expert in all MS Office products (Advanced level of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Familiarity with alternative data sources like GPS or credit card data
  • Knowledge of AI/Machine Learning
