Job Title: Energy Engineer

General Summary: This individual will primarily support the EMCOR Mesa Energy Engineering team on identification of energy efficiency measures, energy analysis and energy modeling, M&V processes including field data logging and trending, and report preparation for projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct energy analysis for projects related to lighting, HVAC, gas boilers & water heaters, etc. through use of spreadsheet calculations including performing data analysis of vendor-provided information and equipment verification
  • Populate reports and studies with customer information, site pictures, utility-usage data tables & graphs, and descriptions of EEMs
  • Create equipment schedules for use in audit reports
  • Develop eQuest building models
  • Attend audits with engineers to provide support as needed including equipment identification, photos, etc.
  • Assist in the company's project improvement process by refining calculation spreadsheet templates, updating measure descriptions, and collecting supporting documentation for various projects to be used as references for future projects
  • Conduct effective research related to energy measures via utility work papers, Energy Star qualification lists, DEER lists, and specification sheets
Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred qualifications:
  • Proficient with standard energy modeling tools such as eQuest
  • EIT/FE (or in process)
  • Knowledge of building mechanical equipment including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, boilers, motors, pumps, and variable speed drives
  • Knowledge of lighting systems and controls
  • Familiarity with utility incentive programs including energy efficiency, demand response, and retro-commissioning
  • Familiarity with Title 2
