Summary:
Under the general guidance of the Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO), the Executive Director, Formulary and Supply Chain Management serves as an authoritative resource on supply chain and formulary governance by maintaining financial oversight over pharmaceutical costs. The incumbent will manage and control all aspects of medication-related supply chain and formulary management for the institute. Supply Chain Management responsibilities include oversight of all medication and supply purchasing, inventory management, vendor management, group purchasing organization (GPO) and wholesaler relationships, supply-chain related information systems and technology, drug shortage management, preparation of the capital and operating budgets, and monthly variance reporting. Formulary management responsibilities include monitoring formulary adherence, providing direct oversight of the non-formulary review process, establishing evidence-based criteria for use, and collaborating with physician leaders to identify the most cost-effective agents for formulary inclusion. The incumbent will also identify cost savings opportunities and develop policies and procedures related to fiscal initiatives; coordinates all contractual activities in the Pharmacy Department; supervises business analysts, pharmacy inventory management specialists, and other supportive personnel; administers performance evaluations and disciplinary actions of pharmacy personnel.

License Requirement
Recognized licensure, if required, to perform the functions of the position.
Education and Experience
1. Doctoral degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
2. Master's degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
3. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of six (6) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or
4. Any combination of education/experience/training that demonstrates the ability of the individual to perform executive-level duties and fulfill the responsibilities of the Executive Director. However, all candidates must have the equivalent of at least eighteen (18) months' experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; stated in 1, 2, or 3 above.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have Pharmacy residency experience (i.e. Residency Program Director experience, completion of a PGY-1 and/or PGY-2 HSPAL), a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health System Administration, or other healthcare related field preferred. Additionally the preferred candidate will posses excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, planning and organizational skills and Financial and negotiating skills.
