Position Description:

• Work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with contract team members and Federal partners, ensuring all deliverables are submitted timely and accurately and in compliance with the SOW
• Provide Federal accounting technical support to federal agency in a fast-paced environment, requiring interaction with multiple offices
• Prepare general ledger journal entries and TIER adjustments for posting, including entries to correct errors and abnormal balances
• Perform monthly Cross Disbursement reconciliation activities
• As needed, prepare journal entries or TIER adjustments to reflect necessary corrections, if the discrepancy cannot be corrected in the financial system
• Perform monthly reconciliation of payroll disbursements through NFC compared to Treasury disbursements. Identify any reconciling differences, analyze the cause, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Validate proper payroll processing by reconciling payroll data loaded into the financial system with original amount received from NFC and ensure that errors are resolved in a timely manner
• Prepare trouble tickets for system issues identified with payroll, and participate in necessary user testing for enhancements and bug fixes
• Assist in the preparation and quality assurance of responses to payroll related audit requests
• Prepare fluctuation analyses on payroll cash accounts and related liabilities, and provide summary reports and recommendations
• Analyze system generated ABCO postings to identify posting logic issues
• Review, research and reconcile PYA transactions (obligation, de-obligation, and refund transactions associated with expired and unexpired appropriations), and prepare upward/downward adjustments as needed
• Work with federal staff as necessary to conduct research, provide recommendations, and improve processes

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, CPA or CGFM Certification preferred
• 10+ years Payroll experience
• PMP Certification or PMP candidate
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Access, with high proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience preparing operational accounting USSGL compliant entries (resolving reporting errors a plus)
• Demonstrated problem solving ability with minimal oversight
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, pivot, and think strategically
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients
• GWA/CARS and Oracle experience a plus
