SUMMARY

The Fleet Financial Analyst will analyze external vendor and internal financial data to provide visibility and insight into performance metrics for the Home Delivery/Final Mile business. The Fleet Financial Analyst will also be responsible for preparing recurring financial and operational reports for management and other key stakeholders identifying variances, anomalies, and trends. This position will work directly with Operational Leaders to investigate and understand financial drivers and discrepancies. Responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing complex financial concepts for financial plans (annual budget, reforecasts, strategic planning, etc).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyzes external vendor charges and internal operational information to determine present and future financial performance.
  • Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements and calculates various metrics using appropriate data.
  • Assists in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial initiatives.
  • Partners with operational partners to understand factors and data that drive operational and financial efficiencies.
  • Prepares studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as fleet plans, asset utilization, damage repair coordination, cost recovery, vendor performance, invoice reconciliation, budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and business forecasts.
  • Utilizes databases and reporting dashboards for use in analyzing current and future plans and forecasts.
  • Assists in making recommendations to management regarding cost savings or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements, business requirements, and operating forecasts.

Education & Experience:

Minimum 3 years of financial analysis or accounting experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience required. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI required. Understanding of and exposure to fleet planning and management preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power BI; requires frequent high-level manipulation of spreadsheets in Excel. Advanced mathematical skills to apply concepts to practical situations and compute and interpret numerical data. Ability to learn and effectively use software applications. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise good judgment in dealing with sensitive information. Must possess a high level of reasoning ability and common sense to resolve complex problems and analyze data and information accurately. Ability to work effectively in a team. Exemplary organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation. Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a changing environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write on a professional level. Comfortable presenting to and communicating with a range of employees, managers, and customers.
