Job Description:
JOB DUTIES: Under direction and supervision of Carnivore Program Manager, assist with and carry out mountain lion research (genetic surveys utilizing scat detector dogs, camera trap surveys, trapping/radio-collaring, identification of prey species), and other data collection efforts, analyze and synthesize data and produce written reports and articles. Assist or coordinate activities and projects within the section or division or as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of wildlife management principles, goals and objectives, particularly those applicable to carnivores. Experience trapping, using game cameras, and collaring/marking mammals is preferred. Ability to hike long distances in steep terrain and inclement weather is required. Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, landowners/ranchers, agency staff, and to work with little supervision is required. Driver's license and overnight travel to other areas within the state is required. Written and computer skills (e.g., Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access, GIS, GPS) highly desirable.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimim Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, fish or wildlife management or closely related field of biological science or equivalent experience.

Other: Driver's license required.
