Global Manager, Accounts Payable

Responsible for managing the global Accounts Payable organization to ensure that accurate and timely financial information is provided to Company Management, Corporate personnel, external auditors and other authorized parties.

This is a hybrid opportunity with Mondays and Fridays being remote days and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays requiring attendance in the office.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the development, support and operations of finance and accounting activities related to the Shared Services Accounts Payable function.
  • Ensure the proper execution of all disbursement activities and related processes including all interfaces with internal systems creating entries in the sub-ledger.
  • Set internal control procedures in accordance with management and internal audit expectations (ensuring continuous compliance). Timely, accurate and complete vendor payments with a constant focus on process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedures for AP processes.
  • Manage all Accounts Payable accounting processes.
  • Assist in Balance sheet reconciliations and review. Ensure all reconciling items are cleared timely and accurately.
  • Provide training, assistance, and guidance to staff.
  • Coordinate monthly "closing" deadlines with finance staff.
  • Provide assistance to business users with questions regarding the processing of invoices and payments.
  • Ensure that audit schedules and supporting documentation is accurately prepared.
  • Coordinate year-end reporting and financial closing requirements with business.
  • Provide ad hoc journal entries as needed to support fiscal close processes.
  • Assist with annual departmental budget.
  • Management of vendor set up processes. Partner with Compliance to facilitate all necessary requirements for set up, inclusive of the W-9 or international equivalent, banking information, contact information, etc.
  • Maintain regular KPIs of global accounts payable processes. Utilize metrics to drive process improvements across the organization.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the Shared Services Accounts Payable function in order to achieve quality service for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain documentation of all accounts payable SOPs ensuring consistent and repeatable processes.
  • Provide continuous training to the accounts payable staff and set expectations of continued technical growth.
  • Oversee the annual processing and issuance of 1099 documents.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • 7-10 years of accounting management experience, preferably in a global high volume processing environment.
  • Experience with Oracle preferred. Solid background in process improvement, project management and execution of company initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in accounting or extensive industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Recognized as technically excellent with financial and accounting systems.
  • Up to date experience with the latest accounting software.
  • Excellent managerial skills in the areas of team development, organization, planning and implementation.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to various levels of management.
  • Proven ability to excel in a non-structured environment.
  • Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
  • Ability to set standards, measure results and coach teams to high performance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting related to accounts payable processing.
  • Understanding the process from beginning to end.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and effectively achieves team goals.
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent team player who works well in a collaborate environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with external partners as well as internal employees.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent, objective, open-minded thinking with strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
