Job Purpose

The Global Pricing & Margin Manager will play a pivotal role in enabling and supporting AkzoNobel's Margin Management Performance cycle. The role will contribute to global process optimization, analytics, and reporting, ensuring a continuous improvement in margin management capabilities across our business units and functions. Building margin & pricing processes & competencies across the organization, supporting the overall strategy and driving towards sustainable improvements in terms of Strategy, Processes, People & Tools.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a global margin / pricing network: Activate and lead a global network to keep our community informed about global process stabilization and improvement initiatives. You will communicate standardized processes, share best practices, address performance challenges, and define margin stabilization objectives.
  • Lead pricing / margin analysis and optimization to deliver on profit targets.
  • Enable consistent Price implementation, integration with relevant systems and follow up across BU.
  • Use, develop and tailor methods to underpin optimal price setting routines based on opportunity analysis.
  • Transfer learning / methods from Corporate to BU and ultimately to PCU's; increase consistency between Corporate, BU, PCU, country
  • Contribute to the global centralized team to constantly improve maturity
  • Develop training: Collaborate with the Margin Management enabler/coach community to develop end-user training materials and programs. Your contribution will empower employees to effectively utilize margin management tools and processes.
  • Drive implementation of a global Margin Management Performance Cycle: Contribute to the development and implementation of a global Margin Management Performance Cycle. You will work closely with our global Margin/Pricing team (MMP team) to define and implement standardized reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment and continuous improvement.
  • Design global standards: Utilize your expertise to design global standards that improve the performance of the Margin Management cycle, including data-driven processes and adjacent processes within AkzoNobel.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, or finance with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Business Acumen: Apply robust analysis and judgment to improve commercial effectiveness and efficiency, delivering optimal financial return for AkzoNobel.
  • Project Management: Plan, organize, and manage resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within defined timeframes and standards.
  • Organizational Acumen: Successfully work across organizational boundaries to create optimal business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of commercial excellence capabilities such as (e.g. Price, Mix, Price Architecture, Margin reporting cycles, Cost to serve).
  • Customer Centricity: Ensure all process stabilization and improvement activities enhance the customer experience and meet business unit and cross-functional requirements
  • Knowledge of commercial processes as well as financial background / analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of internal sales processes - from quotation, price, terms & conditions
  • Knowledge of price negotiation tactics.
  • Understanding of market dynamics, price elasticity to enable fact-based price & profit decision making.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams
  • Being able to give push back also to senior management
