About OnStar Insurance:

OnStar Insurance Services was launched in 2020 and will be in all US states by end of 2021. OnStar Insurance intends to leverage its unique understanding of the vehicles GM produces to offer a secure, fair, personalized and easy-to-use digital insurance experience for drivers. GM has the largest connected vehicle fleet worldwide. In the US alone, there are currently 9M+ connected GM vehicles on the road and that number is projected to triple in the next 10 years. More than that, the OnStar system currently has access to over 900 data points from the vehicle. This surge in information about vehicles and how they are driven will revolutionize auto insurance. About the Role:

General Motors is seeking a Graphic Designer/Marketing Specialist to support the OnStar Insurance business. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to current marketing programs, developing creative concepts, and translating those concepts into actionable marketing collateral to drive growth for OnStar Insurance. These efforts include working with the OnStar Insurance marketing team, marketing teams across the General Motors ecosystem, advertising agencies, and additional internal partners to successfully create and execute marketing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign strategies to develop marketing assets
  • Conceptualize and create compelling content and visuals based on requirement inputs
  • Understand and adhere to brand standards and ensure all deliverables meet those standards
  • Make complimentary recommendations if brand guidelines do not address certain assets needed
  • Express our value proposition creatively through traditional and digital assets
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team on social media presence - including content creation, graphic design, and copywriting
  • Design web pages that are optimized to drive quote activity
  • Copywriting
  • Package and prepare design files for email, web pages and social media
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description

Requirements
  • 3+ years working experience in graphic design, marketing, art direction, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, art, or related field
  • Proficient user of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) as well as Microsoft Office including (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles & techniques and how to apply them to deliver impactful creative
  • Strong time-management skills and a drive to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work productively both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to create and edit email HTML documents for compatibility is a plus
  • Knowledge of video editing software is an advantage
  • Must provide digital portfolio upon request if selected to interview.
