Job Description Summary
Housekeeping Supervisor responsibilities include organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members and checking private and public areas for tidiness. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of sanitation regulations and team management abilities.
Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee staff on a daily basis
  • Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas for cleanliness
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
  • Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on hte job
  • Respond to customer complaints and special requests
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, disinfectant cleaner, and rubber gloves
  • Participate in large cleaning projects as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job duties
  • Experience cleaning multifamily residential or commercial buildings preferred
  • Able to follow directions and handle projects
  • Able to complete tasks on time
  • Able to follow all Cushman & Wakefield safety policies and procedures
IMPORTANT EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school
IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE
  • Some related experience
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods and procedures, materials, chemicals and equipment used in cleaning buildings.
  • Knowledge of existing safety laws, rules,methods and procedures including applicable OHSA and its regulations to ensure the safety of staff, the public and building occupants.
  • Ability to assign, train, inspect and evaluate the activities of subordinate personnel engaged in janitorial duties.
  • Management of assigned personnel: motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, indentifying areas where further training is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regularly required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to travel from floor to floor, climb stairs, and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; regularly use hands to operate office machinery and regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee must demonstrate the ability to exert up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
