The HR Assistant is a highly visible customer focused role that is usually a team member's initial point of contact in Human Resources. The HR Assistant must be highly organized, display excellent customer service skills both verbally and written and able to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Attention to numerous details, initiative, and good interpersonal skills are also necessary to perform the duties of this position. The HR Assistant must be diplomatic, yet businesslike-like, when confronted with difficult situations and sometimes difficult employees, treating fellow staff members with dignity and respect at all times. All information must be treated as highly confidential.
Performs a variety of routine clerical assignments and general office duties for the Human Resources Department. Responsible for overall file maintenance of active and inactive personnel files (filing, copying, scanning, sending and retrieving files from storage, etc.) Completes errands to the mailroom and runs miscellaneous errands. Orders and maintains departmental supplies.
Assists in special projects to include, Joint Commission surveys, personnel file audits, reviewing and audits of annual performance evaluations, assists in special projects for the employment, benefits and compensations area of the Human Resources Department. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
