Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure Engineer supporting the Chief Engineer and to join our team, supporting the United States Space Force's (USSF) Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Integrated Program Office (IPO). This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to critical space systems infrastructure, working within a diverse team to advance the mission of the USSF.

The Infrastructure Engineer will play an essential role in supporting the OTTI Chief Engineer by providing comprehensive engineering expertise for space systems test and training infrastructure. This role is vital to the long-term success of OTTI programs, which aim to deliver an effective force design through the acquisition, development, and sustainment of USSF test and training capabilities.

The position also involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, assisting in implementing technical standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies, and providing strategic insights on infrastructure planning and resource management. In supporting the OTTI Chief Engineer, this role helps optimize organizational workflows and maintain the effectiveness of established systems, contributing to a mission-critical environment dedicated to advancing USSF's goals.

Compensation Minimum: $180,000

Compensation Maximum: $200,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Over 10 years of proven, practical DoD experience in infrastructure engineering or similar roles, including hands-on expertise in network, facilities, and telecommunications support
  • Current Top-Secret Clearance, SCI-eligible, with the capability to secure additional security accesses as required
  • In-depth experience within a System Program Office (SPO) or Program Management Office (PMO), with a demonstrated record of delivering networks and infrastructure solutions for DoD programs
  • Comprehensive experience in facility management, including utilities, climate control, and alarm systems, as well as network and telecommunications project delivery
  • Skilled in working with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and managing services related to telecommunications, internet, and utility support
  • Proficient in Cloud Service Providers (CSP) environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud
  • Extensive experience in the acquisition lifecycle, providing end-to-end support across various product and service procurements
  • Recognized for leadership in the field, with strong analytical skills and a proven track record of success in delivering complex infrastructure projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders, including government and contractor personnel, both in-person and virtually
  • Demonstrated autonomy in work, with the ability to coordinate with senior leadership and team members with minimal supervision
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex requirements into actionable specifications for vendors
  • Skilled in written, verbal, and presentation formats, particularly within a DoD context
  • Full-time on-site work is required
  • Travel up to 25% of the time may be required

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
