Job description

Main Purpose

Perform day to day laboratory duties including testing samples Tradebe is receiving at our plants. This typically includes a variety of hazardous waste and chemicals. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of hazardous materials, chemicals, and chemistry knowledge.

The role

Key job responsibilities

  • Entry level wet chemistry laboratory duties including: pH, moisture, oxidation, titration
  • Daily Processing of waste samples to include but not limited to: Fuel compatibility, bomb calorimetry, GC analysis, metals analysis
  • Daily equipment calibration: Calorimeter, pH meter, GC-MS, GC-FID
  • Additional laboratory support in the areas of standards preparation, record-keeping and other general laboratory duties as assigned

The person

Qualifications

  • A successful candidate will have minimum of High school diploma with strong scientific background
  • College courses or degree preferred in a science related field
  • Willing to work in an industrial setting with limited outside exposure and be willing to handle hazardous and non-hazardous wastes with appropriate PPE
  • Ability to wear a face respirator as needed
  • Strong candidates will possess a great work ethic with the ability to work alone as well as in a group
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation is preferred
