Essential Functions

  1. Work independently in the lab to cut samples, condition samples, operate lab instruments, mold product prototypes, and conduct various product testing both inside and outside the lab. Cut samples could weigh about 30 lbs.
  2. Perform inspection and testing of materials to determine acceptability.
  3. Prepare and condition samples.
  4. Record all the observations in a personal notebook or a computer. Create simple charts and graphs in excel or other similar commercial software. Compile work summaries - daily, weekly, or as needed. Review findings and discuss next steps with project managers.
  5. Manages and understand requirements for laboratory equipment and testing.
  6. Maintains a clean and safe lab working environment [inside and outside].
  7. Ensures that laboratory is efficient and meets delivery schedules Adapt to frequent changes in workload, adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  8. Committed to maintaining safe workplace.
  9. Job requires safely operating golf carts, various grades of forklift, and medium duty trucks.
  10. Ability to identify potentially more effective methods of work operation.
  11. Job requires use of commercial grade rotary blade saw for sample cutting.
  12. Ability to manage the agile methodology, and proactively communicate status while working to accomplish the assigned task.
  13. Attention to detail and ability to be consistent.
  14. Ability to interact across all levels of organization.
  15. Occasional travel in the field to conduct inspections.
Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma or educational equivalent. Entry level. Ability to learn general mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of all pumps, machinery, test fixtures, and recording equipment in the Test Lab. Position Summary Under direct supervision, assists with set-up and general testing of tools. Assist with testing of current experimental, probational and special tools in simulated field conditions. Assembles equipment according to engineering specifications. Assist in operation and maintenance of machinery and test fixtures. Other duties as assigned. Handles special projects, as assigned.
