Job Description Summary

The position facilitates, to successful outcomes, the continuous improvement activities within the plants operational groups. The position utilizes continuous improvement methods and tools that link to on the floor activities across all shifts connecting through the plant Line Team(s) to specific work groups and positions.

Job Description

  • Gather information to evaluate current work processes in order to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration.
  • Support plant CPS pillars and projects
  • Develop and coordinate programs to recognize groups or individuals for actions related to process improvement.
  • Assist in developing continuous improvement materials for multiple job groups, teams, and departments.
  • Develop tactics and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the plant.
  • Instruct others in continuous process improvements; including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping.
  • Coordinate and track individual and team training.
  • Setup, organize and conduct meetings.
  • Have the ability to work overtime and rotating shifts as necessary to support the needs of the Continuous Improvement process.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be able to work as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead.
  • Have the ability to take and provide direction.
  • Demonstrate initiative in currently held position.
  • Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement procedures.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information and data.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to problem solve and be resourceful.
  • An elevated knowledge of Internet systems and the Microsoft office suite.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must be Lock-out/Tag-out qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.

Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Language Skills
  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.

Physical Demands
  • Sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, squat, bend, work from Ladder, lift and/or move 50 lbs or more depending on specific job, fine motor skills with hands, gross motor skills with hands.
  • Reach above shoulders, work above shoulders, Pull, Push, Carry, work from elevated area. Must be able to work 8 hours or more per shift including overtime as needed to complete the job.
  • Must have safe work practices to maintain Safety in the Work Place.
  • While performing the job duties the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and equipment, varied weather conditions that may include, outside, wet, warm, cold, humid and at times works in high precarious positions.
  • May work with electrical, vibrating equipment, and chemicals.

Work Environment
  • The employee works primarily in an outdoor environment and in an office setting, where the noise level is usually quiet.
  • However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in the plant where he/she may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the plant is usually loud. Hearing protection is required and provided by the company.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $23.69
