SUMMARY
The Lead Data Engineer drives projects within the Enterprise Data Services team to ensure that data is clean, formatted, and available. To accomplish this, the role will need to be able to identify, implement, and maintain the necessary data infrastructure at a team and organizational level. The Lead will need knowledge of ETL processes, data management, and data architecture to develop and drive initiatives across GameStop. In addition, to ensure these solutions are maintainable and robust, associates will need to leverage cloud resources and DevOps/DataOps best practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Manage a team of Data Engineers and Software Engineers to develop batch and streaming pipelines that drive services at GameStop
* Work alongside a team of Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineers to augment existing services and develop new capabilities at GameStop.
* Design and architect data pipelines that can properly support the service levels required for new and existing services.
* Coordinating with Product, eCommerce, and other teams to identify data sources and develop the integrations to ingest and/or process these data sources.
* Leverage DevOps/DataOps, and Data management practices to ensure that services are resilient and easily maintainable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
* Accredited bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or similar field; equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitution.
* 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or similar role
* Experienced in querying and working with SQL and NoSQL databases
* Experienced in building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
* Experienced in using big data tools like Spark, Kafka, etc.
* A successful history of working with and/or supporting data-based initiatives.
* Proficient in at least one OOP programming language, preferably Python or Java
* Experience with cloud service providers like AWS and GCP
* Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps, and/or Data Management best practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
* 2+ years of experience on consumer facing web and/or mobile applications.
* Experience developing and deploying cloud-based data services.
* Experience working with event-driven and/or streaming data pipelines
