Job Summary

Within our U.S. planning and water resources business, we have seen consistent growth driven by our clients' needs to address challenges stemming from stormwater regulations, flooding, stormwater capture and groundwater management, water quality impairments driven by wet weather runoff, asset management, and efforts to increase the use of green infrastructure and nature-based solutions. We anticipate an increased focus on integrated water planning and holistic groundwater management as clients work to mitigate dwindling local supplies and mitigate the effects of climate change. This position represents a strategic business initiative for Black & Veatch, and the Water Resources position focused on integrated planning with a focus on water supply and hydrogeology which is designed to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class planning and water resource services.

Key Responsibilities

* Leverage and build relationships with key water resource leaders and decision makers throughout Florida and across the US to drive the growth of the business.
* Lead and/or support planning and design of water supply and hydrogeology focused projects.
* Support client directors as a technical expert with positioning, proposal write-up, and being a part of the interview team for water supply hydrogeology focused projects.
* Support project managers as a technical expert with scope preparation and budgets for water supply and hydrogeology focused projects.
* Lead and support water supply and hydrogeology focused projects and manage the execution team by providing support and QA/QC.
* Lead and/or support planning projects that incorporate water supply, groundwater, and resilience studies.
* Interface with innovative water supply, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for the benefit of our clients
* Serve as a mentor and leader to team members.

Preferred Qualifications

* 25+ years of water resources planning and design experience
* Experience with client-facing/business development efforts for Florida
* Experience with leading/growing teams, mentoring professionals, and expanding service offerings
* Experience developing and executing water supply and hydrogeology planning and design projects
* Experience with hydrogeology and underground injection control regulatory requirements and procedures
* This position is preferably based in Florida. Regular travel within Florida and neighboring states is anticipated

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years' of experience performing duties similar to those of a Geologist 6. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
