BCforward is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Nurse Consultant at Madison, WI 53703

Description/Responsibilities

• The lead worker position operates under the general supervision of the Clinical Policy Section Manager.
• This position has major responsibilities in the areas of leading program planning, research development, and implementation of Katie Beckett Disability Determination policies and guidelines.
• This position requires the ability to lead and perform analysis of complex datasets in order to identify program issues and success with policy or procedural changes.
• This position also requires management experience with the ability to develop, lead, and maintain internal and cross division projects and teams.
• This position requires exceptional written and oral communications and problem-solving skills as it will be required to assist with the leadership of developing and providing training to Disability Claims Reviewers, providers and other bureaus.
• This position requires clinical experience in multiple settings of varying complexity and experience with pediatric populations.
• This experience allows the position to aid with the development and implementation of complex trainings, meetings, and interactions with stakeholders.
• This position will also serve as an adjudicator for Katie Beckett Disability Determinations.
• This includes the ability to document and decide disability entitlement under the Social Security Disability Act, Amendments, and Regulations in both paper and electronic format.
• Effective caseload management in an electronic environment along with decisional accuracy and timeliness of decisions are significant aspects of this position.
• Extensive reading and work with electronic medical and evidentiary records is required.
• Respond to appeals of Katie Beckett denials and modifications, preparing legal position papers and serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
• Monitor Katie Becket Disability requests adjudicated by the State's fiscal intermediary to ensure compliance with program guidelines.

Location: Madison, WI 53703
Expected Duration: 6 Months contract with strong possibility of extension or Contract to hire
Wage: Hourly, W2
