The Department of Chemistry (www.chemistry.msu.edu) at Michigan State University seeks outstanding candidates for full-time, fixed-term Lecturer positions in Chemistry for recitation and laboratory courses. These positions are non-tenure track positions for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. Qualifications include a BS or BA degree in Chemistry or the equivalent and experience in undergraduate chemistry instruction. Responsibilities of these full-time positions will include instructing and grading sections of an undergraduate chemistry courses, attending lecture, holding scheduled office hours, making examinations and participating in weekly staff meetings. Laboratory sections typically have enrollments of 20-24 students. Each recitation section has an enrollment of approximately 30 students.

Bachelors
Minimum RequirementsA Bachelor's degree in chemistry or the equivalent and an interest in teaching a diverse population of students in an undergraduate laboratory environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding teaching and mentoring skills, strong content knowledge, and the ability to work with undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff in a collaborative environment.
Desired QualificationsPrior teaching experience, which may include work in an instructional support role for undergraduate science courses as a teaching assistant or undergraduate learning assistant.
