Job Description Summary
The L4 Process Operator adjusts all L4 Process Equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors line flow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as needed.

This position is responsible for setting up the equipment and support functions for the L4 Process Equipment in accordance with established procedures. This position will monitor the operation of the equipment and make changes as required under the direction of the Production Supervisor.

Job Description

  • As cut or shred quality deteriorates, switch to another cutter assembly. Remove, clean and/or adjust the cutter assemble yielding the poor shreds.
  • Remove bad IQF blades from cutter assemblies and replace with new blades. Calibrate the blades to the desired product thickness.
  • Must satisfactorily perform sanitation procedures for mid shift and continuous sanitation and maintain work areas in a sanitary manner at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
  • Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed, including monitoring water usages.
  • Monitors equipment for any mechanical problems and reports any problems to maintenance and supervisor.
  • Maintains even line flow.
  • Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes.
  • Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Completes production forms as required.
  • Enters checks into computer.

Job Qualifications

  • Sanitation of area.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have good communication skills oral and written.
  • Must be able to work independently.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Language Skills

Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. The employee:
  • The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85dB.
  • Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Will frequently be exposed to humid conditions as well as moderate heat.
  • May occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
