Job Summary
The Loan Administration Loss Mitigation Analyst is responsible for receiving, requesting, processing and reconciling documents related to loss mitigation and the broader default servicing process, including loan sales. This position requires researching missing or stray documentation received for identification and return to proper companies/holders, and assisting management with department reports to ensure all tracking of SLA's are met. All must be done while meeting department production and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, requesting, researching, reconciling, and processing loss mitigation and default title documents. Ensuring the system of record is accurately noted and images are readily available.
  • Communicating with external parties regarding loss mitigation and default title documents. Leveraging in depth system knowledge to interpret underlying facts in support of cases.
  • Analyzing chain of title and documents impacting title to ensure preservation of Bank's interest in real property. Coordinate proper document language is updated in all documents executed by Flagstar and Default Servicing vendor.
  • Collaborating with other default servicing teams, and other internal teams, to assist in the continued development of a best in class default servicing oversight operation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Staff member must complete all required compliance training on a timely basis. Staff member will maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Staff member must take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Reliable Home High Speed Internet required
  • HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent required
  • Minimum of 6years of experience in the Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy and/or Corporate Witness field with detailed understanding of banking specifically default servicing.
  • 2+ years' experience with title insurance, endorsements and recording requirements.
  • 2+ years' working experience using MSP tasks, default templates and entering Notes in addition to LoanSphere.
  • Understanding of mortgage and default mortgage documentation
  • Thorough understanding of title insurance, endorsements and recording requirements
  • Acute attention to detail

  • Strong technical and computer skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal customer service skills
  • Travel may be required 5% of the time
