The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment. This position will be required to perform preventative maintenance as well as corrective maintenance to keep plant equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment.
  • The ability to read and understand blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to aid in troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery.
  • Perform regular and preventive maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
  • The ability to maintain a variety of machines in the factory such as plasma cutting, brake press, laser, paint line, and welding machines.
  • The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks
  • Maintain a clean work area as required
  • Working ability to follow and apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies
  • Report workplace hazards associated with equipment being used, workplace injuries and/or illness, and workplace near-miss incidents immediately to the direct supervisor
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day
  • The ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS ONCE IN THE ROLE INCLUDE:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a certificate from college or technical school is a plus
  • Must have five-plus years of experience in a related field
  • Must have basic hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical & motor control knowledge
  • Must know and follow standard safety practices
  • Basic blueprint reading skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Must possess own tools appropriate to the job being performed
  • Knowledge and ability to use appropriate tools related to the task.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug screen.
  • Flexibility to work alternate schedules to accommodate project needs.
