Role Overview

Advises sales leaders by providing data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Develops and manages the activities of a team of analysts that provide business intelligence and strategic planning support for senior sales leadership. Leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal sources. Brings expertise and identifies subject matter experts to drive multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate strategy.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

Data and Insight

  • Extracts knowledge and insights from data to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, and analysis    
  • Manages reporting for a $20B+ sales organization, with a focus on providing leaders key insight to assist with making business decisions. Emphasis on automation and optimization of reporting.
  • Responsible for working cross-functionally with the sales organization to identify reporting gaps and create reporting
  • Drives requirement development and report creation for needed reporting and ensures scope, risks and dependencies have been identified; works with sales leadership to drive usage of new reporting and use case creation
  • Develops a deep understanding of data structure in EDW and helps manage relationships with Technology team and supports data improvement initiatives
  • Promotes innovative content delivery to ensure reporting adoption
  • Provides ad hoc analysis and key insights quickly and accurately to C-level executives

 

Process, Initiatives, Project Management and Planning

  • Drives and supports key sales initiatives that align to CDW’s corporate strategy while engaging appropriate stakeholders and guiding team to hit deadlines to ensure success
  • Works with Sales and Finance Departments to develop and administer the company’s worldwide sales forecast
  • Develops a deep understanding of the sales forecasting process with the objective of providing guidance on automation and process improvements utilizing CRM to improve forecast accuracy
  • Supports account segmentation initiatives that align to corporate strategy
  • Provides analytical support on sales coverage optimization initiatives
  • Drives automation and process improvement to allow more time for analytics
  • Builds and leverages cross functional relationships to drive project success
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

 

Leadership

  • Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources; typically, is responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews and hiring decisions
  • Hires, develops and trains best in class team of supervisors, team leads, and analysts
  • Creates robust team huddles and training to support best practice sharing on a regular cadence
  • Ensures team is aware of how team goals align to CDW goals and stay laser focused on those goals

Qualifications

            Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a 4-year bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience 
  • 7+ years analyst experience with sales analysis or support, financial analysis, econometrics, or statistics
  • Power BI or other business intelligence tool experience

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Analytical background and an elevated level of financial acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to directors, VPs, and SVPs
  • Must have program and project management experience
  • Excellent analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • History of balancing multiple time-sensitive priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong cross functional relationships

           

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • PMP certification
  • SQL Server Management experience
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse experience
