JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Community Outreach manages the community outreach staff and efforts of the organization. This position is responsible for the development, program planning and implementation of programs specific to community outreach, corporate outreach and school partnerships to meet the medical center goals and primary health concerns identified in the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Develops, coordinates and implements performance standards for all community outreach strategies and programs.

Manages community partnerships, outreach, school partnerships, sponsorships, contributions and special event planning.

Develops and writes the community benefit/outreach plan and report.

Heads Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability (CBISA) tracking and reporting if applicable.

Serves on appropriate committees to maintain awareness of community services and ensure that community outreach programs are being done to obtain needed certifications. Remains knowledgeable of medical advances in wellness and the primary health concerns identified in the community.

Creates, monitors and maintains community outreach budget.

Supervises, directly or indirectly, all employees assigned to the Community Outreach Department. Manages time and attendance. Interviews hires, trains, evaluates, counsels and recommends termination of assigned personnel.

Takes accountability and is responsible for all functions of the department in the absence of the Director, and assists with special projects, as assigned.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Knowledge of the community the Community Health Workers will serve.

Ability to build and maintain a strong team, and provide leadership.

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Strong interpersonal skills that encourage relationship building with a diverse group.

Teaching skills required.

Organizational skills required.

Skilled in the use of computers and related software applications.

Ability to effectively mentor new and existing community health workers.

Masters Degree preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

- EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience
