Position Purpose:

Develop and implement engineering solutions for new products. Develop operator detail instructions for processes.. Active communication with hourly group assisting with needs and process improvements. Ability to utilize a structure problem solving approach when working to resolve issues.

Essential Functions:

• Support manufacturing to protect the customer
• Member of product launch teams for manufacturing engineering support
• Optimize machining programs to allow flexibility
• Optimize tool and insert selection to increase productivity
• Decrease setup and changeover times.
• Develop and maintain operator work instructions for all products.
• Define future technology requirements
• Assist in defining long-range capital planning
• Selection, justification and implementation of CNC equipment
• Design and development and implementation of CNC fixtures
• Improve effectiveness of product and process change method
• Refinement of machining process through tooling and methods optimization
• Optimization of labor by implementing concurrent work
• Assist product launch teams with Industrial Engineering support
• Improve manufacturing capabilities and capacities
• Validate routers for specified work centers
• Analyze existing procedures & processes for improvements
• Develop and maintain operator work instructions for Kitting/Distribution operations and assigned Assembly Cells.
• Support Kitting and Packaging lines, Beam and Saddle Assembly/Kitting
• Plant Layout
• Define future technology requirements

Education and Training

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years' experience required

• Experience with lean manufacturing environments
• AutoCad, NX, MSOffice, Mastercam, Mpact, or similar software/programming experience
• Automotive background a plus
• Capital equipment procurement background a plus
• Preventative Maintenance and TPM a plus
• Assembly experience a plus

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of CNC machining centers
• Knowledge of macro programming preferred
• Knowledge of tooling selection and optimization
• Hydraulic fixture design skills required
• Background in team approach to problem solving
• Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required
• Knowledge of IATF16949
• CNC machining knowledge
